This isn't a game with in app purchases, but a demo that's content locked in less than 5 minutes of progress, and that's supposedly the first 10 levels. Given this supposedly has 99 levels that implies they want $3 for roughly 20 minutes of play time. I've seen better content for kids made with scratch for free.

My 3 year old learns so much with this app, and enjoys it! He traces letters, and they say the sound aloud for him to repeat. The lower case 'g' is the type that looks more like an 8, but everything else is good. I do wish there were less, or no, things that need to be unlocked by paying money or review, but we like the app overall.
