Real Experience Using Mutual LDS Dating: Meet & Chat
Application Scenarios
My experience with Mutual LDS Dating has been quite enriching. I primarily use the app during my lunch breaks, where I can browse through profiles and send messages without feeling rushed. One day, I was sitting in a café after a church service and decided to check the app. I ended up messaging someone who also attended the same service, and we quickly made plans to grab coffee together later that week. It felt organic and perfectly aligned with my values.
User Experience
The user interface of Mutual LDS Dating is refreshingly clean and straightforward. Upon opening the app, I was greeted by a welcoming layout that made navigation intuitive. I could quickly access my matches, messages, and profile settings without any hassle. The app runs smoothly, and I never encountered any bugs or lag, which can often be a concern with dating apps. The feature workflow is seamless; I could swipe through profiles and send a message in just a few taps. Overall, using the app has been a delightful experience, as it fosters genuine connections while keeping the focus on our shared faith.
Pricing
Mutual LDS Dating operates on a freemium model. The basic features are available for free, allowing users to create profiles, browse, and message other users. However, for those looking to enhance their experience, there are premium subscription options. These subscriptions unlock additional features like seeing who viewed your profile and sending unlimited messages, which can be beneficial for users serious about finding a match.
Updates & Support
The app is regularly updated to improve user experience and introduce new features. I appreciate that the developers actively listen to user feedback, which shows their commitment to providing a quality platform. Customer support is readily available through the app, and I found their response time to be quite quick when I had a question about my account. This attention to user needs enhances my overall satisfaction with the app.
Security & Privacy Review
As an American user, security and privacy are paramount when using any dating app, and Mutual LDS Dating takes this seriously. The app is available on both the App Store and Google Play, ensuring it's accessible and vetted by major platforms. When registering, users are required to provide basic personal information and verify their church membership, which adds a layer of trust to the community.
In terms of privacy, I felt comfortable knowing that the app does not bombard users with invasive ads or track their behavior excessively. I appreciate the app's commitment to user privacy, which allows me to connect with others without the fear of my data being misused. Overall, Mutual LDS Dating offers a secure environment for individuals seeking meaningful connections based on shared faith and values.

App was... decent until they updated it so that you can't see the location and age of those who like you, allowing you to reverse search and find said people who like you. L change. Next, in the year that I've had this, I've gotten a total of 11 likes. all but one were from outside the country and were either scams or fake. the one that I liked backed immediately unliked me and that was that. I know for a fact that I'm not that unlikable so the system is absolutely rigged and very predatory.

Somehow, right as my subscription ended almost 50 new likes appeared behind a paywall where you can't see the profiles until you pay. I may file a complaint with the FTC. Very shady if they are manipulating the accounts to motivate people to subscribe. I don't know 100% if that's occuring in this circumstance, but I'll let you judge for yourself. As a reference I average 4-5 new likes a day. Not once did I have 40-50 in a few hours. Plus, there's very little engagement, many inactive accounts.

Despite having turned off the setting option to receive promotional messages they still send promotional messages. I've sent screen shots, and they've verified I should not receive the messages but instead of fixing the problem they keep ignoring my settings and sending more promotional messages. Just another in a long line of technical issues from an app that clearly doesn't know or care about what it's users want.

Mutual is great app for meeting people initially. If you are only using the free version, Mutual slows its frequency showing your profile over time. Mutual's free version also only lets you match with people who have liked you ONLY IF they happen to pop up on your feed. I personally have much more success on the free version of Hinge because they make the likes far more accessible.

So incredibly buggy. They don't use native inputs, so they customize everything and it really screws up all the time. Typing in answers to the prompts is insanely difficult. Moving up and down doesn't work, so the order you initially choose is what you're stuck with. If your device is wider than normal, it introduces a whole category of bugs. Almost totally unusable.
