Features & Highlights
MSN Weather is a comprehensive weather application that offers a range of features aimed at providing users with accurate and timely weather information. Its user-friendly design and intuitive interface make it easy for anyone to navigate. Here are some of its core features:
Real Experience Using MSN Weather
Application Scenarios
As an avid hiker and outdoor enthusiast, I rely heavily on accurate weather information to plan my activities. One particular Saturday, I had arranged a hiking trip with friends to a local national park. Before heading out, I opened the MSN Weather app to check the forecast. To my surprise, the app indicated a 70% chance of rain later in the afternoon, prompting me to push our start time earlier. This simple check not only enhanced our experience but also kept us safe from potential downpours.
Another scenario where MSN Weather proved invaluable was during a recent business trip. I had meetings scheduled across several cities, and I used the app to monitor the weather conditions in each location. This allowed me to dress appropriately and plan my travel times, ensuring I arrived punctually despite unexpected weather changes.
User Experience
The user interface of MSN Weather is sleek and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. Upon opening the app, I am greeted with a clean layout displaying the current weather conditions and a quick summary for the day. The app is responsive, and I appreciate how quickly it refreshes data, ensuring that I always have the latest information at my fingertips.
One of the standout features is the interactive radar map, which I find particularly engaging. The ability to zoom in on my area and visualize incoming weather patterns adds a layer of understanding to the forecast. I also love the detailed hourly forecast, which helps me plan my day more effectively. Overall, my experience with the app has been positive—it's reliable, easy to use, and visually appealing.
Pricing
MSN Weather is completely free to download and use, which is a significant advantage compared to some other weather apps that require a subscription for premium features. The app is ad-supported, but I have not found the ads to be intrusive, allowing me to enjoy the service without feeling bombarded.
Updates & Support
The developers of MSN Weather regularly update the app, ensuring that it remains compatible with the latest devices and operating systems. I have noticed improvements in the app's performance over time, including faster load times and smoother navigation. Customer support is easily accessible through the app, should you encounter any issues, which adds an extra layer of confidence in using the service.
Security & Privacy Review
When it comes to security and privacy, MSN Weather takes several important steps to protect its users. The app is available for download from reputable sources like the App Store and Google Play, ensuring a level of trustworthiness. Upon installation, users are not required to register or input personal data, which is a significant plus for those concerned about privacy.
Regarding ads and tracking behavior, while the app does feature advertisements, they are generally non-intrusive and relevant to the weather theme. The app does not excessively track user behavior, which is a common concern among American users. Overall, MSN Weather strikes a good balance between functionality and user privacy, making it a reliable choice for anyone looking to stay informed about the weather.

Just says "null". This app doesn't actually do anything anymore. Update Aug 2022: The new version of this app now works, but it's pretty awful. It is more ad based. It also doesn't let you use the location you set manually as your default location, so you must leave GPS on at all times. If it can't find the GPS signal, it won't pull from the default location you set in your GPS settings on your device. Nope, it will just assume you're in Colorado. It looks "cute" now at least. Still 1 star.

Finding a great weather app is challenging. This one & Weatherbug are the only ones I've found that don't have invasive pop ups that make use more frustrating than useful. This MSN app seems a lot more accurate than weatherbug (which often is off by a LOT), but the info presentation of MSN is lacking. I want to see all info (temps, wind, precip) in the same graph, hourly forecast, 10 day forecast without manually picking them 1 at a time (& default feels-like =off). They reverse the priorities.

Good when it works, but it only works reliably when utilizing WiFi networks, as such it is kind of useless because it can't be trusted to work when needed, which is sad because it has the potential to be one of the best weather apps available, it's simple and easy to use, and it focuses on weather, not weather news, or climate change hyperbole, or ridiculous ads, just fix it so that it works reliably when utilizing cell data.

Used to be an awesome app on Windows Phone, but on Android... HORRIBLE. Buggy, as all get out. If there are warnings, it crashes on startup. Starting on mobile data, it won't open (Wi-Fi data is fine). The interface doesn't match the Windows version anymore. I really wish this app was fixed/updated, as it's still my favorite ad free weather app.

I like the desktop version of MSN Weather. But the app is unhelpful. It decided on its own that my location is in some tiny town I've never heard of and will not for any reason let me remove that town or even let me set something else as the default. Even the instructions to fix it on Microsoft's website just didn't work. It looks like it would be great if it worked, but I want a weather app to show me weather in my area, not some random tiny town.
