Features & Highlights
Epocrates, a leading medical reference app, has become an indispensable tool for healthcare professionals. Its impressive suite of features enhances clinical decision-making, making it easier to provide top-notch patient care. Here are some of the core features that set it apart:
Real Experience Using epocrates
Application Scenarios
As a healthcare provider, I often find myself in situations where quick and reliable information is crucial. One such instance occurred during a busy clinic day when a patient arrived with a list of medications from their primary care doctor. With Epocrates at my fingertips, I was able to quickly check for any potential drug interactions and confirm the proper dosages, all while maintaining a conversation with the patient. Another scenario involved a late-night call from a colleague seeking advice on managing a patient with a rare condition. The app's clinical guidelines gave me the confidence to guide them through the treatment options effectively.
User Experience
The user interface of Epocrates is sleek and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. I particularly love how the search function allows me to find information quickly; typing in a drug name or condition leads me to relevant data almost instantly. The app's performance is consistently smooth, with minimal loading times, which is essential when I need information on the fly. Overall, using Epocrates feels like having a reliable medical library in my pocket, and its well-organized layout means I can focus on what matters most—my patients.
Pricing
Epocrates offers a free version that includes essential features, which is a great starting point for those new to the app. However, for more advanced functionalities like clinical guidelines and in-depth drug information, users can subscribe to Epocrates Premium. The price is reasonable, especially considering the value it brings to my practice. I find the investment worthwhile, given the time and potential errors it helps me avoid.
Updates & Support
Epocrates frequently updates its database to reflect the latest research and clinical guidelines, which I find reassuring as a user. The support team is responsive and helpful; I once reached out with a query about a specific feature and received a prompt and informative reply. This level of support enhances my overall experience, making me feel valued as a user.
Security & Privacy Review
When it comes to security and privacy, Epocrates takes these concerns seriously, which is reassuring for American users like myself. The app is available on official app stores, ensuring that I downloaded a legitimate version. Upon registration, I was required to provide basic personal information, but I appreciate that the app does not request overly sensitive data. Additionally, there are no ads cluttering the interface, and I haven’t noticed any tracking behavior that would compromise my privacy while using the app. This focus on security allows me to use Epocrates confidently, knowing that my information remains protected.

There was a time where this was the best drug app. I have been using it for 25y. I hate that now half the time when I open it I get the spinning circle of death waiting for the app to update. Takes at least 30s. Why can't it update randomly during the day when it's not open so that I can actually do patient care in a timely fashion? also, I use it as a drug reference. I have zero interest in any news articles that it has. It can't even do its basic function job.

It's no longer a "quick" reference because when you open the app, there's a delay. Then click the search bar and an ad pops up asking to upgrade to the paid version. You have to click X on the top right corner. Then a winter ad pops up for their current winter deals. X out. Then you can search again. This happens several times a day.

I love this app usually, but lately, I have been unable to use what I have paid for. I will be canceling if this issue is not fixed. It continuously says that it is syncing. When working, this is very beneficial to me. I used it daily at work until these updates. It is very frustrating. 12/8/23 This app stays unstable anymore. I pay an annual subscription and can't even use my mobile app half the time. It's not opening at all on mobile now.

I've been using Epocrates for many years now. I am for the Epocrates Plus, in the last month I open the program on my phone which is compatible. It is frozen , and does not work. Removed the app several times and re-downloaded it. I then went to the Play store to see that there's several other people that are complaining about this issue. If this is not taking care of then I will definitely ask for a refund and I will let all my colleagues know. Very frustrating!!!! Please fix

For about 2 weeks now, my Epocrates App on my phone locks up after a couple of uses. Then I have to uninstall and the reinstall. Works a couple of times and the same thing happens. I notice on GooglePlay that there are 2 identical Apps that both download when you install. Is this part of the problem? Very frustrating to be in the middle of a patient visit and not get the info. you need. Please fix this!
