Features & Highlights

Learn C++ is a comprehensive app designed to make the journey of learning C++ both engaging and effective. Below are some of the standout features that truly set it apart:

  • Interactive Coding Exercises: The app offers numerous hands-on coding exercises that allow users to practice coding in real-time. For instance, I was able to write a simple program to calculate the factorial of a number, which helped solidify my understanding of loops and recursion.
  • Step-by-Step Tutorials: Each topic is broken down into digestible sections, complete with explanations and examples. When I was learning about object-oriented programming, the app guided me through the concepts of classes and objects with clear, relatable examples.
  • Community Forum: The app includes a vibrant community forum where users can ask questions and share insights. I found this particularly helpful when I encountered a tricky debugging issue; I posted my question and received prompt, valuable feedback from fellow learners.
  • Progress Tracking: A built-in progress tracker allows users to see their advancement through the course. I appreciated this feature as it motivated me to consistently engage with the material, knowing how far I'd come and what was left to learn.
  • Quizzes and Assessments: Regular quizzes help reinforce the material learned. After completing a section on data structures, I took a quiz that not only tested my knowledge but also highlighted areas I needed to revisit.

Real Experience Using Learn C++

Application Scenarios

In my everyday life, I often find myself needing to brush up on programming concepts for various projects at work. As a software developer, enhancing my C++ skills is crucial, especially when dealing with legacy code. Learn C++ has become my go-to app for quick revisions or deeper dives into specific topics. For instance, while preparing for a team project involving C++ optimization techniques, I used the app to quickly go over memory management concepts. This not only saved me time but also ensured I was well-prepared for the discussions with my team.

User Experience

The user interface of Learn C++ is clean and intuitive, making navigation a breeze. The home screen presents a well-organized layout where I can easily access tutorials, exercises, and quizzes. The workflow is seamless; I can jump from reading a tutorial to practicing coding without any hiccups. Performance-wise, the app is responsive, and I’ve never experienced any lag while coding or browsing through tutorials. Overall, my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The app's design makes learning fun, and it feels tailored to meet the needs of both beginners and more experienced programmers.

Pricing

Learn C++ offers a freemium model, allowing users to access a wealth of content for free, with additional features available through a premium subscription. The premium version includes advanced tutorials and exclusive exercises that I found particularly beneficial as I progressed in my learning journey. The pricing is competitive compared to other coding apps, and I believe it offers good value for the level of quality and depth provided.

The developers of Learn C++ are responsive and committed to improving the app. Regular updates introduce new features, fix bugs, and enhance user experience. I’ve reached out to their support team a couple of times, and I was pleasantly surprised by their quick responses and helpful solutions. It’s reassuring to know that the app is well-maintained and that user feedback is taken seriously.

As an American user, security and privacy are always top of mind when using apps. Learn C++ is available on official app stores, which provides an initial layer of trust. I appreciated that the app requires minimal personal data for registration, allowing me to focus on learning without unnecessary personal exposure. Furthermore, there are no intrusive ads or aggressive tracking behavior; my usage patterns seem to remain private, which is a refreshing aspect in today’s app landscape. Overall, I feel secure using Learn C++ and confident that my personal information is well-protected.

the lessons are all over the place, and theres no tasks to actually practice what some of the lessons are "teaching". telling me to go code when I have no idea what the hell im doing and then ASSUME I understand it is frustrating to say the least. im not just gonna type random things into the compiler and hope it works, thats a huge waste of time. when the whole point of the app is to teach you how to do it and it doesnt thats just a retarded set up, 0/10 stars definitely not worth the money

Sends up to several notifications per day, some of which tell you that you have a limited time (usually less than 24 hours) to get 95% off of "pro." That 95% discount never goes away. They have very generic illustrations that are apparently well known people like Bjarne Stroustrup... which they narrate in the first person, in broken English. Too much functionality is behind a paywall, and the functionality that isn't is questionable from what I've seen.

Only 3 short, extremely basic courses available in the free version. With so many free resources available online, this app is not really worth downloading. Some typos and mistakes exist. The interface for answering questions is pretty enjoyable. With how basic the first 3 courses were, I did not feel like I would get much value from the "pro" courses (nothing that I couldn't find online for free, at least).

As programmer looking to make a switch to c++, this course is for absolute beginners. Do not waste your money on the pro level if you have any level of prior experience. I don't plan on getting the advanced either due to the fact $7 got me less than 1 hour of lessons on here. Devs- if you want to add value to what you're providing, combine the languages into 1 "pro" level cost. Don't split it up into separate apps like this.

I completed the introductory lesson, bought the premium course, then the app said that I completed every lesson and needed to take the test? I can't find a way to reset it, and when I go to start the second lesson, it feels like I'm missing something. I'm not sure if I am or that's just the lesson format, but it seemed weird. I sent customer support an email about it a few days ago, but never heard anything back.
