I no longer recommend this app to others. When most useful major features were moved behind a paywall and subscription, it lost most value to many users. The cost is now far greater than I think most people who used the excellent older version of the app will find acceptable. The only positive reviews of the app now appear to be less than one or two lines. Detailed comments show dissatisfaction with the new model with limited power. I was very sorry to lose this app from my pool of useful apps.

I work for an organization that does a lot of hiker rescues. a long time ago someone thought it would be a good idea to use this app to simplify the process of relaying coordinates to a large group of people and for a while it worked okay. Now every useful feature has been locked behind a paywall which has essentially made that app unhelpful. Specifically losing the ability to display GPS coordinates.

I love what3words, but the app doesn't integrate with Android Auto, so I don't know how I'm supposed to use it to navigate anywhere in my car. You can send a destination to Google Maps by using the phone screen, but that doesn't work when you're in your car. If you send the destination before getting in your car, it doesn't show up in Android Auto. This is their primary use case and it just doesn't work.

I thought this was a great app and a valuable thing to have on my phone. However, over the past few days, despite my not having used it, I'm nearly constantly getting a pop-up that says "what3words keeps stopping". I've written the developer but have not received any response. I hate to uninstall this, but its popping up every minute or two, which is decimating my ability to use my phone for anything useful without interruption. I hope I hear and get remedy from the developers very, very soon.

Cool app, but constantly crashing on Android 10, while running in the background. Come to think of it, i didnt even open the app after updating my phone, so what's it trying to do without permission? Hmmmm. Update: new version reduces the frequency, but still crashes. Still running in the background when i haven't opened the app. Uninstalled.
